Nevermind.
I spoke too soon. Apparently moving one's modem to a high, flat surface does not result in sustained internet connectivity. I got home last night after about 24 hours away from my apartment, and the freaking DSL light was flashing away again.
Therefore, Verizon makes my list of Companies That Suck.

I'm with you about Verizon as a Company That Sucks. They charged me three months of service... after I cancelled my service. And still haven't sent me the reimbursment. (I really hope I spelled that right!)
Hey look, I'm commenting. I'm sure you've read my LJ, so you should know that all Big Faceless Service Providers suck equally. While I may now have reliable Internet service, it essentially took a year to get it. Godspeed, little doodle.
Is there actually anyone out there who doesn't think Verizon sucks?
More importantly, DSL sucks and you should switch to cable if possible.
